Job Details:
Reporting to the Senior Director/Counsel of Labor Relations, the Labor Relations Manager will serve as the primary day-to-day leader for all labor relations matters in Massachusetts market. This role will oversee labor relations across three facilities in Massachusetts and work closely with senior human resources and operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Advise and counsel hospitals, market, and corporate office on labor relations matters.
- Manage collective bargaining negotiations and contract compliance with a number of labor unions.
- Support market hospitals in all aspects of the grievance/arbitration process, including handling arbitrations or managing outside counsel in arbitrations, as appropriate.
- Manage preparation for, and the response to strikes and picketing work actions by labor unions.
- Manage the response to union organizing when needed.
- Travel as necessary between three facilities located in Worcester, Framingham, and Natick. We will run an MVR on the final candidate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required; JD required.
- 5 years of related experience.
- Experience managing outside counsel and consultants.
- Experience managing the grievance and arbitration process.
- Experience with union campaigns.
- Experience with union negotiations.
- Extensive experience with and knowledge of labor and employment laws and labor relations.
